Have you ever read a book that you were
interested in, that you want to become
the character in the book? The book that I am reading is called Ifunny
written by James Patterson. This book talks about how Jamie entered a contest
call “Planet’s Funniest Kid Comic Contest”. He has to move with his Aunt, who
never smiled or laughed at his jokes. Now he has to go to a new school. He’s
always with his friends in the cafeteria, and they invited some new people to join. Now he has to move in with
his aunt, the school bully is his cousin.
In
the book “Ifunny” by James Patterson, the main character experiences many
hilarious moments. For example when his friends invited someone to the group
Jamie was kind of nervous so when he tried saying something to the person, he
was too nervous. So he said something random, but the person named Gilda
thought that he was trying to be funny so she just laughed. Jamie asked why are
you laughing she said because your too funny. So Jamie just kept going.
In this book
Jamie moved to Long Beach
and was having a hard time living with his aunt. He was working with his uncle
Frankie in a beach restaurant and talked with the customers and made them
laugh. When Jamie moved to Long Beach
he said “I have to move with with my mom’s sister because she is more mature
than my uncle Frankie”. Now Jamie lives with them and since there’s no room he
has to live in their garage. His aunt was nice enough to clear out the garage.
After when that happened, his uncle saw Jamie making
the customers happy and making them laugh. His uncle said “Jamie here’s a gift
to go to the contest, you’re hilarious”. After his uncle said that, he went
home and got his notebook. Whatever he was thinking he made it into a joke and
wrote it down. “Every time I think of an idea I write them down in my notebook
and write it as a joke,” he thought. This is a struggle for the main character
because one day he could run out of ideas. Also he doesn’t like staying with
his aunt because there’s a bully named Stevie Kacrove who always bullys him in
school and is his cousin. So now he’s gets bullied at home and school.
In the book
“Ifunny” by James Patterson, the main character experiences many hilarious
moments. I enjoyed this book because most of the time it was funny and at times
I was able to connect with the main character. For example he has a bully in
his aunts house, I have a bully in my house except he is my brother. I
recommend people to read this book because if you read this book it will show how
people struggle in middle school, at house or being in a wheel chair. This
relates to the world because most people have the similar problems. This book
is great for teens that are my age because most people can relate to him and
understand what’s he is going through.
